On the very first episode of Soul Kink Therapy, I was honored to welcome Jenny Raven, a UK-based cross-dresser and erotica author, for a deeply vulnerable conversation about what it means to live a double life.
In this session, Jenny shares their lifelong journey, from the earliest childhood memories of wanting to be a girl to the shame and secrecy that forced their feminine identity, Jenny, into hiding for years. We explore how writing erotica became an outlet and a way for Jenny to finally have a voice. This is a raw and honest look at the pain of the “invisible masculine,” the trauma that can shape our identities, and the powerful, healing nature of kink when approached with intention.
The conversation culminates in a beautiful and emotional moment as I witness Jenny Raven reveal their true self visually for the first time in a public-facing forum. We then move through a therapeutic embodiment practice to help Jenny fully step into her being. This is a profound story of courage, self-discovery, and the liberation that comes from finally speaking your truth.
“This was great. I was flabbergasted that there’s someone out there almost just like me”
“Great podcast. A lot of the stuff Jenny said is the same for me. I’m looking forward to hearing more. Great work.”
“It’s so refreshing and heartening to see such validation in what you do as it’s so rare that a cis woman openly embraces the concept of male femininity.”
I was honored to welcome my guest, Sam, for a deeply vulnerable and important conversation exploring the nuanced line between gender play as a kink and the possibility of a trans identity.
Sam shares their lifelong journey, from the earliest memories of trying on their mother’s clothes and the thrill of transgression, to discovering words like “kink” and the controversial term “autogynephilia” to try and make sense of their experiences. We discuss the pain of feeling invisible within a masculine identity and how kink has been a reliable cure for anhedonia—an inability to feel joy.
This session moves from a thoughtful, intellectual exploration into a deep, somatic practice as we work to validate Sam’s journey and find a tangible path forward for exploration with their partner. This is a powerful and tender look at the constructs of gender, the healing power of intentional kink, and the courage it takes to explore the deepest parts of yourself on the path to liberation.
